Live Puppy Cam Kicks Off on National Puppy Day, Celebrating Puppies with a Purpose

National nonprofit Canine Companions for Independence launches live puppy cam featuring five-week-old future assistance dogs

During these uncertain times, national nonprofit Canine Companions for Independence is happy to be able to spread a little joy starting today, National Puppy Day. Tune in to our live puppy cam to watch a litter of five-week-old future assistance dogs as they play, eat, sleep and grow!

Over the next few weeks, join us from wherever you may be at cci.org/puppycam and learn what the first stage of life is like for a future assistance dog. Trust us – it’s sure to brighten your day!

Canine Companions® assistance dogs are trained in over 40 commands and are matched with children, adults and veterans with disabilities free of charge. These dogs assist with daily tasks such as retrieving dropped items, opening and closing doors and drawers, turning on and off lights and much more to enhance independence for people with disabilities. To get there, it takes nearly two years of hard work and love, starting at the very beginning as adorable puppies.

While it may be hard to tell, the young puppies in the live cam are already training for their special futures. Learning to interact with each other and humans, playing on and around different surfaces and being exposed to new sights, sounds and smells helps build the foundation for a successful assistance dog.

Even in uncertain times, Canine Companions’ mission is still in motion. There are over 400 people with disabilities waiting to be matched with a Canine Companions assistance dog. Help the puppies of today become the assistance dogs of tomorrow. To learn more or donate, visit cci.org.
