A Message from Canine Companions for Independence:

Canine Companions is closely monitoring developments with the coronavirus (COVID-19). We are taking precautions to limit its effect on our operations, including cancelling or postponing large group events and non-essential activities, including most travel, public campus tours and on-campus group activities.

Our campus is currently closed to visitors and volunteers. Please be patient with us as we may reschedule some appointments and activities. We look forward to being able to see you and serve you in our usual fashion as soon as possible!

Stay safe everyone!

Congratulations to our March 2020 graduating class!

Congrats volunteer puppy raisers- This couldn’t happen without YOU!

Canine Companions for Independence graduation ceremonies occur at least four times a year in the Northeast Region. Graduation marks the end of a rigorous two-week Team Training program. During these two weeks, individuals are paired with a Canine Companions assistance dog and are taught how to work together as a team. The bond created between each individual and the dog they paired with is truly inspirational to all who get to witness their relationship.
Canine Companions provides highly trained assistance dogs to children, adults and veterans with physical disabilities. Canine Companions assistance dogs can also be paired with a facilitator working in a health care, education or courtroom setting.

We invite you to join us for a unique experience that will allow all in attendance to witness our mission first hand and experience the journey from puppy to assistance dog.
