The Chicago Satellite Office was opened in September 1992 to help the North Central Regional Center educate the public and raise funds through special events and grants from foundations and corporations in the Chicago area. In addition, the office helps recruit potential applicants and puppy raisers, and train and coordinate volunteers.

There are volunteer opportunities available in the Chicago area from raising a puppy to assisting with various events including the annual Day at the Races, Alpha Sigma Phi Bike-a-Thon, Schaumburg Flyers Game, holiday gift wrapping at local bookstores and more. Event volunteers are typically needed to assist with mailings, demonstrations, set up, take down, staff information booths and assist with special event coordination. There is always something for everyone.
