PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB: This position works closely with the regional Development Director in the identification, solicitation and development of community, local and regional fundraising, public relations and marketing sources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Plan, coordinate, manage and organize local and regional fund raising events. Develop and implement new events for the region. Review and ensure adequate insurance coverage for all CCI fundraising and development events.
- Communicate with local and/or regional media resources, which include: television, radio, newspapers, magazines, etc. Maintain records and follow-up on all media contacts. Prepare and distribute press releases, public service announcements, articles of interest and graduate stories to community, local and regional media. Provide status reports to supervisor of all media projects.
- Develop funding to underwrite special event costs from vendors, businesses and corporations. Develop sponsorship agreements with vendors, businesses and corporations; provide sponsorship acknowledgment and donor cultivation for future events.
- Compose, edit and distribute regional newsletters. Contribute regional articles for inclusion in National newsletters. Prepare other written assignments pertaining to the development department as needed.
- Perform development presentations and demonstrations to the public with a high degree of professionalism.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or department.
REQUIRED ABILITIES:
- Ability to use computerized programs such as database, data processing, and other communication software programs.
- Ability to network, motivate and train staff, volunteers and clientele.
- Ability to perform several tasks concurrently, time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to complete necessary paperwork and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to perform public speaking; ability to complete grant proposals.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Computer and public relations experience.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: College graduate or equivalent.
REQUIRED LICENSES: None
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work indoors and outdoors performing development and administrative duties. Weekend and some evening work required.
SAFETY HAZARDS: Minimal Hazards. General office working conditions.
