Frankie Albert, #13

Terry Albert-Levin has supported Canine Companions for almost 30 years and has a family history with the SF 49ers as well.  Her father was quarterback Frankie Albert, one of the original 49ers.

An All-American at Stanford (during the introduction of the T-formation under coach Clark Shaughnessy), Albert was drafted by the 49ers in 1946 and played 7 seasons, alongside other 49er greats Hugh McElhenny, Joe Perry, Strike Strzykalski, Lenny Eshmont, Norm Standlee.  The left-handed All-Pro QB was known for his scrambling style and credited with inventing the bootleg play.

Albert returned as head coach for the 49ers for 3 seasons 1956-58, and he was a part-owner of the team until the late 70's.
