PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB: This position works closely with the Development Director and the Regional Director in the identification, solicitation and development of community, local and regional fundraising and marketing sources. This position also oversees the volunteer program including recruiting, volunteer support and coordinating volunteer activities with agency events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Development
- Assist in the planning, coordinating, managing and organizing of local and regional fund raising events. Develop and implement new events for the region. Work with regional chapters to plan, coordinate and execute chapter special events and awareness activities.
- Develop funding to underwrite special event costs from vendors, businesses and corporations. Develop sponsorship agreements with vendors, businesses and corporations; provide sponsorship acknowledgement and donor cultivation for future events.
- Develop and implement solicitation of gifts and special projects from individuals and organizations.
- Perform development presentations and demonstrations to volunteers and public with a high degree of professionalism.
- Oversee the development of current and new chapters. Review chapter monthly activity reports and chapter-meeting minutes, process chapter requests, including reimbursements and check requests, oversee development of chapter budgets and petty cash account maintenance. Act as liaison between chapters and the region and keep chapters informed of CCI news, activities and updates. Keep detailed files on all chapter activities. Organize and run yearly chapter president meetings.
- Establish and maintain donor recruitment and solicitation, which includes preparing and updating thank you letters and donor correspondence, tracking funding from donors to company database and tracking funding demographically.
- Assist in the development and preparation of grant proposals.

- Volunteer Coordinator
- Conduct volunteer orientation meetings to recruit new volunteers and increase the volunteer support base. Provide overview of CCI volunteer program to all volunteer applicants to ensure accurate information is provided to educate volunteers and their contacts. Review and update volunteer application materials and guidelines. Interview all volunteer applicants and provide follow-up as necessary. Recruit, screen and train volunteers in specified job areas in accordance with CCI procedures
- Supervise and evaluate the work performance of volunteers and follow-up volunteer service with recognition and thank-you letters. Frequently visit volunteer work sites and projects to reinforce excellent CCI volunteerism and provide support when needed.
- Create, review and update volunteer job requests and related job duties. Solicit input and volunteer needs from regional staff. Maintain up to date volunteer job descriptions and volunteers needs for the regional campus. Complete special development and volunteer projects, which require initiative, flexibility and creativity.
- Provide volunteer coverage, coordination and training for special events, such as galas, team trainings, graduations, and fundraising events. Work with volunteers during special events and provide supervision, training and support to ensure coverage and propriety. Develop volunteer committees for special events as needed.
- Create and maintain volunteer files, database and other relevant volunteer information such as dates to be recognized, current address, emergency information, current phone numbers and areas of interest or ability. Track and record volunteer hours performed for CCI.
- Create and implement volunteer recognition opportunities such as a Volunteer Appreciation Event, volunteer awards for special achievements or service, acknowledgement of birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Maintain and update all volunteer bulletin boards on campus and oversee volunteer recognition to reinforce the importance of CCI’s volunteers and the volunteer program
- Coordinate volunteers for demonstrations and presentations from outside groups

REQUIRED ABILITIES:
- Ability to use computerized programs such as database, data processing, and other communication software programs.
- Ability to network, motivate and train staff, volunteers and clientele.
- Ability to perform several tasks concurrently, time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to complete necessary paperwork and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to perform public speaking.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Computer, development and special event planning.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: College graduate or equivalent.
REQUIRED LICENSES: None.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work indoors and outdoors performing development and administrative duties. Weekend and some evening work required.
