PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB: This position is responsible for the regions fund development in the geographical territory covered by the center. The position also oversees the management of the regions personnel and works with program management to ensure accurate administration of center and program management policies and procedures.     

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Manage the regional fundraising development program; raise annual center budget through individual solicitation, grant writing, events, clubs, etc. and coordinates regional Board and regional staff fund raising efforts. Track and report on development funds demographically.
  • Develop and expand the regions fund development program:
    • In conjunction with the National development program, develop and maintain funding methodologies and concepts.
    • Research new funding ideas and present proposals to National
    • Implement approved fund development programs
    • Maintain statistical and research data and for all funding sources.
  • Develop annual regional income and expense budget for development projects and activities. Develop resources to meet the anticipated income need of the regional budget and manage regional development expenses. Analyze and report on variances between actual and budgeted income and expense amounts.
  • Recruit, hire, train and evaluate regional administrative and development staff to ensure compliance with company’s policies and procedures; strive to obtain a diverse workplace representation of the region where campus is located.
  • Act as program liaison with regional program staff to provide:
    • Support as needed to program activities.
    • Provide direct supervision in administrative areas (attendance, punctuality, work habits, customer service and intra-agency cooperation)
    • Provide input to evaluations of regional program manager and other local program leadership in cooperation with the National Program Department
    • Promote cooperation and teamwork and act as liaison to the National Program leadership.
  • Supervise planning, coordination and organizing of established local and regional fund raising events. Develop and implement new fundraising events particular to the region.
  • Interphase with community, paying attention to entire region:
    • Visit each part of the region, paying attention to issues involving the chapters.
    • Provide monthly updates to board regarding progress of region.
    • Travel throughout the region to give lectures and demonstrations emphasizing the mission.
  • Review and ensure adequate insurance coverage for all CCI fundraising and development events. 
  • Identify community, local and regional grant sources. Execute timely grants to coincide with funding source guidelines. Research funding from foundations, organization and corporations. Follow-up declined grants for input and future success. 
  • Oversee and perform public presentations for CCI events and demonstrations. Maintain records of demonstrations, update and distribute demo calendars and follow-up on demonstrations to encourage contributions and support.
  • Maintain regular cordial correspondence and networking with community, local and regional donors. Establish and maintain correspondence records. Update regional development acknowledgements and thank you cards. Oversee regional development correspondence to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Work closely with National Director of Development and report all regional development projects, newsletters, funding and related items. Provide monthly reports on: fund raising activities, major gifts, grants and special events, public relations, priority contracts and other funding efforts.
  • Develop and report to the regional board of directors while striving to obtain a diverse board member representation of the region where campus is located.
  • Promote, expect, utilize and practice resolution training skills region wide
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or department.

 

REQUIRED ABILITIES:

·         Ability to perform several tasks concurrently, time management and organizational skills.

·         Ability to manage, network, train and motivate staff, volunteers and clientele.

·         Excellent oral, verbal and written communication skills required, including public contact.

·         Ability to organize and maintain detailed records; complete necessary paperwork and meet deadlines. 

·         Ability to use computers; word processing, spreadsheets, email and database applications.

·         Ability to perform public presentations; strong person-to-person contact.

·         Ability to plan, analyze and translate data into developed plans.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Three years professional fundraising experience, preferable in management with knowledge of a comprehensive development program. Demonstrated successful experience in leading a team and managing staff is critical. Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with community, corporate/foundation leaders, donors and volunteers. Should have an understanding of mission based fundraising.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:   College graduate or equivalent.

REQUIRED LICENSES:       None.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work indoors and outdoors performing development management, training and administrative duties. Travel and weekend work required.

SAFETY HAZARDS: General office working conditions. Subject to hazards that can be caused by working in, around and with animals.      

STARTING SALARY: Between $64,850-77,825
