Canine Companions for Independence was founded in the Southeast Region in 1989 in Orlando, Florida. The Southeast Regional Center of Canine Companions for Independence opened on Independence Day, July 4, 2000, and serves the 8 states of Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana.  The 8-acre Anheuser-Busch/SeaWorld campus, named in recognition of the company’s $1,000,000 gift, consists of four buildings with a total of 32,000 square feet.  It is a state-of-the-art facility where training, education and caring come together.

Currently there are 210 active Southeast Region graduate teams, 130 volunteer puppy raisers, plus more than 600 dedicated volunteers in this region.  Want to join us as a volunteer?  Check out the different volunteer opportunities here or submit the online volunteer interest form today for immediate consideration!

Tours are given of the campus every Thursday.  Reservations are required at least one week in advance.  Click here for more information.
