Luis Sottil Commemorative CCI Giclee

World renowned artist and CCI supporter, Luis Sottil, has created a beautiful work of art exclusively for CCI. "Couples Harmony" is a piece of artwork called a giclee and features images of two zebras with their heads lovingly intertwined. The print also includes a special message around the boarder and an artist's imprint with the Canine Companions for Independence logo. 

A giclee is a fine art print created through digital printing and it is the highest quality print that can be produced, using modern technology, which best replicates the integrity of the original art.

Sottil has been supporting the Southeast Region of Canine Companions for Independence since 2005 through his unique PAWcasso paintings that are created in partnership with CCI graduates and their dogs. This program has raised over $50,000 for Canine Companions. A portion of the sales of "Couples Harmony" will also benefit CCI, allowing the organization to continue to provide exceptional dogs for exceptional people.

PAWcasso: An Afternoon of Art & Wine - March 14, 2010

On Sunday, March 14th, world-renowned artist Luis Sottil will unveil his newest masterpiece created with Skilled Companion graduate Sami Castro and her assistance dog, Fanny II.  The piece will be auctioned off that afternoon, with all proceeds being donated back to Canine Companions for Independence!

The afternoon will also include the pouring of a signature wine donated by ABC Fine Wine & Spirits with an original label created by Luis Sottil, light hors d'oeurves and the opportunity to bid on a variety of artwork and wines.

3^rd Annual Doggie Derby at Baldwin Park - May 1^st - 3^rd, 2010

You are all invited to join in the fun on Saturday, May 1^st at the 3^rd Annual Doggy Derby at Corrine Commons in Baldwin Park.   

There will be hats (after all, it is the same day as the Kentucky Derby), there will be races, there will be trophies and there will be food, children’s activities and shopping booths from local pet retailers.  

The format for the doggie derby is a single elimination, head to head race in four weight divisions: featherweight, lightweight, middleweight and heavyweight. Trophies will be awarded to the champion in each weight class and an overall winner will be chosen to receive the grand prize. 

A donation of $15 is suggested for registration and admission is free for spectators. Further information and pre-registration is available on-line at www.bpdoggiederby.com
