BALBOA BARKS: A Day of Peace, Love & Canine Companions was a groovy time for the family and Fido on Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 10AM-3PM in Balboa Park at the corner of Park Blvd. and Presidents Way. Formerly called Woofstock, the festival featured flyball, disc dogs, a K9 agility playground, contests, great shopping, delicious food and more! Peace, Love & Canine Companions dog walk preceded the festival. All proceeds benefitted Canine Companions for Independence (CCI), a local non-profit organization that provides assistance dogs to people with disabilities completely free of charge.

Canine Companions has held annual dog and people festivals for the last seven years. In 2011, the festival had a record number of sponsors, 80 vendor booths and raised $30,000 for Canine Companions! We are grateful to the volunteers, sponsors, vendors, walkers and festival attendees for making the festival a success!
