CCI Volunteers Make a World of Difference!

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at CCI. Our organization utilizes over 400 volunteers in the Northwest Region and 3,000 volunteers nationwide. Included in the volunteer family are over 900 puppy raisers, 85 breeder caretakers and members of our Boards of Directors and Volunteer Chapters.

Volunteers participate in many ways at CCI. You are asked to attend a Volunteer Orientation and discover the many avenues open to you as a member of our volunteer team. Volunteers must be 14 years of age and commit to a minimum of  3 months of service. All potential volunteers are invited to attend a no obligation, Volunteer Orientation – held every other month on the CCI campus in Santa Rosa.

Orientations are about one hour and 15 minutes and include a tour of the campus.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:


Please fill out our volunteer interest form and our Volunteer Coordinator will contact you.
  • Puppy Raisers – dedicated people and families willing to raise our puppies until they’re old enough for advanced training
  • Office Support – General filing, mailings, data entry, phone reception, administrative support.
  • Dog Walkers – Train to walk CCI dogs boarding in the CCI kennels weekday mornings and afternoons and on-call.
  • Dog Bathers – Bathe CCI dogs and puppies according to procedures on weekday mornings and afternoons and on-call.
  • Docents – Give tours and presentations on the CCI Campus to visitors on Mondays and Wednesdays and on-call.
  • Special Events – Participate in fundraising events for CCI in a variety of capacities.
  • Team Training and Graduations – Help prepare lunches, bake cookies, usher, serve, set up and clean up.
  • Kennel Assistant – Help in the kennels with cleaning, assist with dog care and dog-related and general maintenance duties.
