CCI volunteers make a WORLD of difference!
Welcome, potential Canine Companions volunteers! Thank you for considering donating your time to CCI. The Northwest Regional Center is located in Santa Rosa, California, and utilizes over 400 volunteers.
If you are interested in volunteering, please complete our Volunteer Interest Form after reading through the opportunities below. Once you have submitted the form, you will be contacted about attending a Volunteer Orientation.

Please attend our upcoming one-hour Volunteer Orientation to discover our many volunteer opportunities.
Most campus volunteering takes place during normal business hours, Monday through Friday 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.

Schulz Campus Volunteer Opportunties
Campus Docents – Train to become a docent of the Schulz Campus by learning the history and programs of CCI to guide campus tours. Weekdays only.
Data Entry – Help our National Data Entry Team by entering data into Excel and Pledgemaker.
Dog Bathers – Train to bathe our dogs in our professional grooming facility during a 2-hour shift. Currently need substitute dog bathers. Weekdays only.
Dog Walkers – Train to walk our dogs around our beautiful 12-acre campus for a 2-hour shift. Currently need substitute dog walkers. Weekdays only.
Event Support – Have fun supporting CCI! Help us put on our annual fundraiser, Bone Appetit, on September 12th! Many positions available.
Facility & Grounds Maintenance – CCI needs help up-keeping its beautiful 12-acre campus. Enjoy building, cleaning, organizing and repairing? This is the job for you!
Front Desk Reception – Train to answer the main CCI phone line and transfer calls. Greet guests as they walk through the front door.
General Office Support – Work with our dedicated staff in a professional yet casual environment. Fold important documents, stuff envelopes, prepare packets and packages, help with mailings, filing, making copies and shredding files. Weekdays only.
Graduation Support – Help with CCI graduations by setting up, assisting with parking direction and breaking down. Fridays only.
Puppy Raiser – Assistance dogs aren’t born, they’re raised. Raise a puppy for CCI. If you are ready for a challenging, yet rewarding experience, consider raising a puppy from our breeding program.
Foster Sitter – Would you like to care for a CCI puppy in program while it’s waiting for its puppy raiser? This could range from one day to two weeks.
Breeder Caretaker – We need dedicated volunteers to take care of our breeder dogs and bring them to CCI for their “dates”. Breeder caretakers of female breeders will whelp the puppies in their home and care for them for eight weeks.
