Dogs, Doctorates, and ...
Don has a lot to be thankful for, not the least of which is the independence that his Service Dogs from Canine Companions have helped create for him.
Expo was Don Weller's first assistance dog.
"Expo went to college, graduate school and off to complete a clinical internship program with me," Don explains.
"Expo gave me confidence and helped me to be independent in the dorm. But, more than that, he helped me see that I could be independent on my own. I realized that if I could take care of Expo, then I could take care of myself,"says Don.
Now, Don has his second Canine Companions for Independence assistance dog, Luna.
With Luna by his side, Don received his doctorate, got married and settled into a good personal and professional routine as a licensed psychologist. Read more of how Don and Luna work as a team.

...Decorations
Don's family are strong supporters of Canine Companions. Since Don received his first assistance dog in 1990, they've grown their two family business websites www.OrnamentShop.com and www.ChristmasOrnaments.com into the Internet's leading sellers of personalized and decorative Christmas ornaments. Now they offer an opportunity for all Canine Companions friends to contribute as you shop their sites.
The two websites will contribute 10% of your purchase to Canine Companions when you insert coupon code CCI2010 when requested at the end of your order. Then, the Wellers will match your 10% for a total of 20% of your purchase going to Canine Companions. This program is applicable to all Canine Companions coupon orders between now and December 31, 2010.

Brandon's Treat Truck Thursday
Thursday is my favorite day of the week. Every Thursday a giant truck rolls down our street. It's loud and my mom, Lisa, pets me a lot telling me it's okay. You know me; I'm not scared of a little noise, but moms worry.
Anyway, my friend Stacey gets out of the big white truck and gives my mom a treat in a box and me a treat from her pocket!
Love treat trucks. Wonder why all trucks aren't treat trucks? Guess they could be... will have to check in with the bigger dogs about that one.
Tuesdays have lots of treats too. And friends galore! Tuesday is puppy class day.
I think it's important for all of us to have fun while we're in class. So I like to give everyone in class a great big wag. I don't understand the nickname they call me though.
