Canine Companions Puppy Raisers Receive Awards

18 year old Brittany received a President's Volunteer Service Award for her service as a volunteer puppy raiser. Brittany was inspired to raise a puppy to hopefully become an assistance dog by her aunt's experiences with multiple sclerosis.

Middle-school student Kylie also received a community service award for puppy raising, a state honoree for the Prudential Spirit of Community award.  Kylie's family has a tradition of raising puppies for CCI, as her brother has done before her. Watch this video to see more on her award.

Brittany and Kylie are just two of hundreds of volunteer puppy raisers and thousands of amazing individuals who volunteer their time and talents and open their hearts and homes to help Canine Companions provide exceptional dogs for exceptional people.

So congrats to Brittany and Kylie and thank you to all of the volunteers who make it possible for Canine Companions to provide highly trained assistance dogs to peoples with disabilities.
