Orlando, FL –- The entire Peanuts gang invites you to the 22nd Annual Tales & Tails Gala on Saturday, October 6 at the Rosen Shingle Creek. The event benefits the Southeast Region of Canine Companions for Independence and last year’s event raised more than $500,000 to help Canine Companions place assistance dogs, free of charge, for people with disabilities.
Enjoy a night of tasty treats and happy dancing and explore the pumpkin patch on your search for unique and memorable auction items. Then hear an inspirational story of one dog’s extraordinary journey from puppy to highly trained assistance dog.

PEANUTS BACKGROUND: This year’s theme, It’s the Great Gala Charlie Brown, is a tribute to renowned cartoonist, the late, Charles Schulz. In life, Charles was an avid supporter of Canine Companions for Independence. Together, he and his wife Jean Schulz have generously supported the organization’s mission, helping it become the largest provider of assistance dogs in the world.
WHY: The Southeast Region of Canine Companions for Independence opened on July 4, 2000. It has provided more than 450 assistance dogs for adults and children with disabilities and has more than 200 volunteer puppy raisers. Canine Companions assistance dogs are provided free of charge, though costs exceed $50,000 to breed, raise train and provide ongoing support.
