Volunteer washing dogVolunteer Opportunities

Because of the substantial costs involved in breeding, raising and training Canine Companions, CCI is very thankful for the volunteers that help our organization achieve its mission.

Raise a CCI Puppy; care for a CCI breeder

NOTE: Our current needs for new puppy raiser applications are primarily in the Northwest, Southwest and Northeast regions.

For puppies to become Canine Companions, they need lots of care, training and socialization. Volunteers from all over the United States raise puppies from the age of eight weeks until they are about 16 months old. Puppy raisers also attend puppy classes to teach them basic obedience skills. Visit the Puppy Raising Program to learn more. We also need Breeder Caretakers who live within 90 miles of Santa Rosa, California.

Volunteer Your Time at a Regional Center

Volunteers at our regional centers can help with fundraising events, graduations, receptions, and a variety of office and clerical tasks. Visit Our Regions to locate your local Regional Center.

Join a Volunteer Chapter

Volunteers who don't live close to one of CCI's Regional Centers may be able to join a volunteer chapter near them. As a chapter member, volunteers help to increase awareness of CCI by organizing fundraising events or scheduling presentations or demonstrations with service groups and schools. Visit Our Regions to locate your local Regional Center and the chapters near you.
