CCI Volunteers Particpated on American Idol's Idol Gives Back Program
We are pleased that three Canine Companions volunteers participated during a special segment on national volunteer-based organizations on American Idol on April 9. Volunteers Bruce Ross, and Lisa and Kjersti Housman where on stage during the Maria Shriver segment featuring California volunteers. 12-Year Old Graduate Writes Second Book.
Canine Companions Graduate Shea, 12, and Skilled Companion Dog Mercer have teamed together in a great new book series titled "Marvelous Mercer." Book signing for the second book of the series took place at FAO Schwarz in Manhattan on March 15.

Canine Companions attends the Pacific Life Open.
Canine Companions graduate teams, supporters and volunteers attended the Pacific Life Open tennis tournament March 10-23. In addition to generating awareness and sharing CCI's mission with the 300,000+ in attendance, CCI graduate Brent Baribeau, of the Wheelchair Tennis Foundation, and CCI assistance dog Phlox, attended demonstrating their skills. CCI has become the talk of Manhattan at The 21 Club.
The 21 Club, located in New York City’s Theater District, is renowned for its collection of colorful sports memorabilia and corporate items hanging from the ceiling of the Bar Room. And now Canine Companions has joined in, with a stuffed black Labrador retriever, Marvelous Mercer, sporting the Canine Companions service dog vest on the ceiling among toy airplanes, sporting souvenirs and more. |
