Walk to SchoolBringing Everyone Together for a Better Community
Early morning hike to promote health and safety
On a chilly October morning, members of the Atlanta Chapter of Canine Companions joined students and teachers from The Ellis School of Atlanta for a "Walk to School Day" This project encourages kids to walk and bike to school to get more physical activity and improve pedestrian and biker safety on our roadways.
The Ellis School of Atlanta is a non-profit special needs school for children with complex communication needs and multiple disabilities.
For several years, the Atlanta Chapter has joined The Ellis School to raise awareness about Canine Companions and We've joined in their summer Camm ImpAACt and Family Fun Day at Sensations Therafun, a multi-sensory activity center.
It's always a delight to see these kids respond, laugh, and smile as they interact with Canine Companions dogs.
