The Southeast Region of Canine Companions for Independence has been making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities since 1989. The Southeast Region Training Center, an 8-acre campus, opened on Independence Day, July 4, 2000, and serves the states of Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana. The campus, named in recognition of Anheuser-Busch/SeaWorld's million dollar gift, consists of four buildings with a total of 32,000 square feet. It is a state-of-the-art facility where training, education and caring come together.

Important Announcement: September 6, 2017 - Hurricane Irma's path continues to move towards Florida, and the Southeast Region staff in Orlando is making sure we are prepared and ready for any potential impacts from this storm. Everyone is ready to jump in and lend a helping hand and we will be keeping a watchful eye on the entire campus, and in particular our kennels. Our dogs' safety is our number one priority at this time and we are doing everything to ensure their well-being. Please stay safe if you live in an affected area and we will continue to provide updates on our social media channels.
Update - September 7, 2017 - The Southeast Region is ready and prepared for Hurricane Irma as its path moves closer to Florida. As we have been monitoring the storm’s path, we made the decision to close our offices on Monday, September 11. In case of an emergency, please call our national emergency number at 1-800-833-5388. Our emergency plan is in place and the dogs in professional training will be well looked after by our amazing staff. Thank you for the outpouring of support for the safety of our staff and our dogs on campus. We so appreciate the Canine Companions community. Please stay safe if you live in an affected area, and remember to get yourself, your service animal or puppy ready today in case of an evacuation.
Update - September 12, 2017 - The Southeast Region training center is safe and secure, despite high winds from Hurricane Irma. As our community recovers, our offices are still closed, so please call 1-800-833-5388 in case of an emergency.
