South Bay Chapter at National Automobile Dealers Association ConventionJanuary 2, 2017
In January, South Bay Chapter participated in raising public awareness at the National Automobile Dealers Association Convention at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco. The NADA Charitable Foundation donated $10,000 in support of the Wounded Veterans Initiative. ADESA, an auto auction services company, held an auction for a Harley-Davidson motorcycle which raised an additional $20,000. That bid was then matched with another $20,000 donation. The NADA Charitable Foundation has made generous donations in the past but this was the first time graduate teams and puppy raisers were invited to participate. The dogs were magnets in drawing people and increasing participation in the auction. Meeting the dogs went a long way in inspiring people to donate money. By the end of the day, $51,600 was raised for Canine Companions.
