Wine reviewers rate all the vintages in this flight very highly.  Robert Parker called the 2005 a “hypothetical blend of a great ST. Emilion and Pomerol.”  He awarded a 98-plus rating to the 2013 and stated, “it certainly has 30 t 40 years of life in it.”  These wines are difficult to purchase, with a long waiting list and production of as few as 2,000 cases per vintage.

Mutual Aid Artwork

On the morning of October 16, 2017, award winning photographer Jerry Dodrill visited the fire camp at Sonoma County Fairgrounds to witness the massive orchestrated effort to save Sonoma County from the perfect storm that ravaged our community. Jerry himself was a wildland firefighter and his step-father and step-brother are both career fire fighters. Jerry sat in awe and took in what the firefighters aptly called “The Circus,” and he began to photograph the insignias of the different fire departments who came to offer “Mutual Aid” to Sonoma and Napa counties He lost count after one hundred. His artwork, titled “Mutual Aid,” commemorates the spirit of bravery and selflessness of 176 units of the first responders from all over California, Nevada, Seattle, Utah, South Dakota and beyond.

Jerry is an adventurer and photographer who has traveled to remote corners while questing for wild experiences. His immense talent and creative eye have been well-recognized through international awards and exhibition in fine galleries. He is also an expert mountain climber, as well as a writer and senior contributor to California Climber Magazine; he has been published extensively in periodicals including Sierra, Orion, Vanity Fair, World of Fine Wine, Wine Spectator, Men's Journal, Smithsonian, Outside, Alpinist, Rock & Ice, and Climbing.

Jerry serves on the board of directors of the B-Rad Foundation, a program designed to promote youth leadership and foster environmental stewardship. He was fundamental in product development and creation of an exciting new backpack company designed for photographers, MindShift Gaer, and serves as Vice President of the Rock Ice & Mountian Club.

“Mutual Aid,” generously donated by Jerry Dodrill, is printed on metal and was framed by Hammerfriar Gallery in Healdsburg.
