The Canine Companions Cin-Day Chapter visited the National Air Force Museum on August 6, 2016. Twenty members and their families, along with six Canine Companions puppies and two assistance dogs, toured the newest building at the museum. The National Air Force Museum is located in Dayton, OH; a short driving distance from Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

The fourth building expansion was just recently opened to the public with four new galleries. “The new $40.8 million, 224,000 square foot fourth building, which was privately financed by the Air Force Museum Foundation, will house four galleries – Presidential, Research and Development, Space and Global Reach, along with three science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) Learning Nodes.”

Our Canine Companions puppies were exposed to stairs, tight spaces, and some new sights, sounds, and scents that will help to acclimate them during their training to be assistance dogs.

This was the second visit to the National Air Force Museum for the Cin-Day Chapter this year. Photos from both events are available for viewing at the chapter's Flickr site.
