Lions Club participation dates back to Canine Companions’ very beginnings in the mid-1970s. Lions in Northern California were the first volunteers recruited by Canine Companions to serve as puppy raisers and breeder caretakers. Interest grew and the Lions Project for Canine Companions was born in 1983 to create awareness and provide support for Canine Companions. Lions, Lioness and Leo Clubs across the United States support through a Club Membership, fundraisers and volunteer program. Through the support and donations from clubs across 26 states in the nation, Lions Project has donated over $4.6 million to Canine Companions.

Lions Project has a wide range of awards available that honor individuals and club members while making donations. For more information on becoming involved or awards, please contact:

Canine Companions partners with Scouts to provide service projects that benefit both the children and teens and our constituents. Often, scouting groups in search of a project to satisfy their community engagement hours, or individuals pursuing an elite Scout rank, choose Canine Companions. We offer a breadth of opportunities to build important skills, goals and relationships. Past projects have included refurbishing outdoor spaces, finding solutions to challenges for our clients with disabilities and more.
