Chicago Satellite Office

The effort to bring CCI to the Chicago area began in September of 1990. Among the small group of volunteers was Amy Campos, who soon thereafter received her first CCI Service Dog, Yanz. "Yanz opened up doors for me both literally and figuratively," says Amy. "Because of what she did for me, my love of the program grew, and I started volunteering with others in the area to help CCI."

In 1992 Amy took on the challenge of opening and heading the Chicago Satellite Office. CCI offered her the Coordinator position and she served as a tenacious fundraiser for CCI ever since.

In order to keep up with the growing interest in CCI, Amy brought aboard Deb Felkamp as Development Associate. "We are a well oiled machine and work amazingly well together," says Deb.

The Chicago Satellite Office raises money through special events and grants from foundations and corporations.  It also assists CCI's North Central Regional Center staff by recruiting potential applicants, training and coordinating volunteers and educating the public.
